The Vampire Diaries is an American supernatural television series that was based upon the book series by L. J. Smith. The series was created for television by Kevin Williamson and focuses on the lives of vampires, and other supernatural characters. The series is about Elena Gilbert (played and narrated by Nina Dobrev), an ordinary teenage girl who falls for Stefan Salvatore. Paul Wesley plays the vampire character Damon while Ian Somerhalder plays Damon. The series takes place at the Mystic Fall, a fictionalized and mysterious town located in Virginia.

The Vampire diaries online aired through CW Television on September 10, 2009. It enjoyed huge commercial success as it attracted more viewers than any other CW series since 2006. The series received very mixed reviews initially. However, they have been greatly improved over the seasons. The Vampire Diaries won the People’s Choice Award, as well seven Teen Choice Awards.

Then people start suspecting him. Damon, Stefan’s brother, carried out the attacks. Damon and Stefan have a rocky relationship because they were in a relationship with the same girl, Elena.

The TV series is based in part on the book. However, the storyline has been updated and many characters added. The Vampire Diaries has Steven R. McQueen portraying the character of Jeremy Gilbert. Sara Canning is Elena’s aunt Jenna Sommers. Katerina Graham plays Bonnie Bennett. Nina Dobrev, who played Elena Gilbert as the main protagonist, also played the role of Katherine Pierce, the show’s main antagonist.
