AUSSIE CliSci Budget Woes

IF the “science is settled”, what’s the point of continuing further climate research? Research that always begins with the pre-conceived notion that human emissions are causing X so we need to spend Y and you need to do Z in order to avert disaster 100 years from now, “based on our high-tech model simulations”.

RESEARCH to study natural variation, important for climate predictions for agricultural industry and emergency services etc is scoffed at and simply NOT granted.

SO, the $1.6 BILLION will again be spent purely on activist CO2-centric ‘science’ fermenting the ‘warming’ scare in order to maintain and even increase funding if the new problem discovered is bigger than the last one. The scare self-perpetuates.

WHAT a joke.

AUSTRALIA should cut all climate ‘science’ funding or at least dedicate 50% to natural variation studies that look at variables like maybe…the Sun! The real driver of climate change.

Watts Up With That?

News Brief by Kip Hansen

aus_dollarAustralian climate scientists are whinging about the newly announced Federal budget for 2019.  Who can blame them?

The total to be spent on climate-related research has been reduced to the abysmally low sum of AU$1.6 billion for the next fiscal year which begins 1 July 2018. [Yes, that is billion with a B].

While 1.6 billion Australian dollars (just over 1.2 billion US dollars @ today’s exchange rates) may seem like a lot of research money for a country that doesn’t have the necessity of maintaining fleets of satellites or ocean-going research buoys, but it is a very sharp reduction from the AU$3 billion they were allotted  for the current year.

All this according to a report from Science News , which quotes Martin Rice, an environmental scientist and head of research for the Sydney-based Climate Council of Australia as saying;

“Once again, [the budget]…

ECONOMIC Fantasy: Battery ‘Solution’ to Intermittent Wind & Solar Would Cost $Trillions

“Those fantasists claiming that we’re heartbeat away from running entirely on sunshine and breezes, need to keep up the line about giant batteries being the simple solution to a glaring problem. Except, that they will never put a number on what their purportedly quick and simple fix might cost. And that’s because the number is in the many $trillions, as detailed by Francis Menton below.”

AND on the third day BILLIONS became TRILLIONS! Taxpayers hard-earned money sacrificed at the alter of “climate change” all to try to create some kind of perfect climate nirvana.

Out-of-control…

STOP THESE THINGS

It took the proletariat a nanosecond to work out that wind power can, and will never, work as a meaningful power generation source.

Graphs like the one above – depicting the entire output of every wind turbine connected to Australia’s Eastern Grid (spread across four states, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia) – quickly gave the game away.

Challenged with the inherent unreliability and obvious intermittency of wind power, those pushing it have been reduced to chanting mantras about mega-batteries saving the day.

The way they tell it, it’s as if they simply left grid-scale battery storage off their shopping lists – like some muddle-headed shopper returning home without milk and bread – and all they needed to do was pop back to the shops to collect some.

A bargain struck by economic vandals: $150,000,000 for 4 minute’s power.

The world’s largest battery cuts a lonely figure in a paddock…

ADDICTED to Other People’s Money: Wind Industry Howls Whenever Its Massive Subsidy Stream Threatened

“PEEL away a few layers of this little onion and all that’s left is a ‘business’ model wholly dependent upon mandates, renewable energy certificates, production tax credits and fines on retailers for refusing to tolerate the chaos delivered by wind and solar power.

In Australia the direct and immediate cost of subsidies to wind and solar power outfits will exceed $60 billion over the life of the Federal government’s Large-Scale Renewable Energy Target. Largesse that has left Australia with among the highest retail power prices in the world (wind powered South Australia, tops the list).

No other industry in Australia’s history has enjoyed subsidies on that scale, ever.”

TRILLIONS of dollars of other-peoples’-money spent worldwide on unreliables. Wind Turnines and solar panels that are neither clean nor green and provide near zero global energy.

INSANITY on steroids and human growth hormones!

STOP THESE THINGS

No but, yeah but these things is well cheap to run, except ya gotta keep them subsidies comin’ cos’ choppin’ em will send us broke and all.

Way back in 1984, wind cultist Christopher Flavin’s told us that “in a few years’ time wind energy will not need to be subsidised.” 34 years on, the subsidies just keep on flowing and, without those subsidies, the so called wind ‘industry’ would disappear like a snowflake in summer.

No matter where they ply their trade, the wind industry, its parasites and spruikers will never be accused of running a consistent theme when it comes to wind power’s (supposed) ability to compete with conventional generation sources.

Whenever the political brains trust start challenging the true and hidden costs of wind power to their constituents, these boys start babbling about the wonders of wind being “free”; their “technology constantly improving”; their costs coming down…

Wind Farms In England Only Supply 2% Of Power

NOT to mention the shocking admission by the wind industry chief that England is not even windy enough! 🤦‍♂️
https://climatism.wordpress.com/2016/06/05/england-not-windy-enough-admits-wind-industry-chief/

“Sooner or later everyone sits down to a banquet of consequences.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

By Paul Homewood

Wind turbines near the village of Bothel in Cumbria.

Anyone who lives in England knows just how ubiquitous wind farms now are across the countryside.

So it might come as a surprise to learn just how little power they actually produce.

The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy has now published the detailed data for 2016. It shows that onshore wind farms in England produced only 5.7 TWh, out of a total generation in England of 241.8 TWh.

In other words, the princely amount of 2%.

Can anybody say it has been worth all of the bother?

COP23 In One Graph, The Best Reason Ever Why The USA Doesn’t Need To Be In The #ParisAgreement

“BUT…but…without the U.S, how do we fund our climate gabfests in every exotic corner of the world?! Jet travel, 5-star hotels, champagne and caviar cost money you know!” – Signed, concerned UN climate elites and environmental NGO’s.

Watts Up With That?

While the COP23 climate conference is going on in Bon this week, there has been renewed wailing and gnashing of teeth over President Trump’s withdraw from the 2015 Paris Climate Accord this past summer. There are lots of reasons why the US doesn’t need to participate, but looking at this one graph, it becomes clear that other countries aren’t leading the way, not one bit. The USA leads by a large margin.

This is the graph climate alarmists and tax revenue trough feeders don’t want you to see:

Most of the growth in CO2 emissions this century came from modernizing economies. And China and India dominated:

Cuomo Curses New York to the Dark Ages with $360m on Subsidised Wind Power

Right, Left, Centre, Conservative, Liberal or communist – I still can’t get my head around the fact that ANY human being can be intrinsically motivated by ideology over facts, data and reason in support of the wind experiment.

“Progressiveness is a sickness” has been thrown around a bit lately but surely hard data pertaining to blackouts, energy poverty and economic ruin must prove unequivocally that wind energy is a compete failure and surely MUST override stubborn “save the planet” ideology?!

STOP THESE THINGS

***

In 2017, with examples like Germany, Ontario and South Australia on file, any political leader still pushing subsidised wind power on his or her people is either a certifiable lunatic or is in on it.

Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York State simply leaves that question begging with his move to throw $360 million of taxpayers’ money to the wind.

In New York, Wind And Solar Get Double Their Value In Subsidies
The Daily Caller
Andrew Follett
16 January 2017

New York state is paying 11 large wind and solar power projects two times more in subsidies than the projects actually generate in electricity.

New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the $360 million in spending over the weekend, but didn’t reveal the precise amount of funding for each project. A good portion of the funding will go to the large company Invenergy’s 105.8 megawatt Number Three wind…

It’s Time for Frydenberg & Turnbull to Come Clean on the Cost of Subsidised Wind Power

“would you rather have your economic future destroyed by a $42 billion electricity tax, designed to subsidise the construction of another 6,000 of these things; or a $90 billion electricity tax, designed to subsidise the construction of another 12,000 of them [windmills]?”

No further comment your honour.

STOP THESE THINGS

turnbull-frydenberg Do you really think they won’t notice a $42bn power tax?

***

STT has a hard time working out whether Federal Energy & Environment Minister, Josh Frydenberg is simply thick, obtuse or knee-deep in the greatest government sanctioned rort of all time?

Faced with a disintegrating electricity grid, skyrocketing power prices and a renewable energy policy on the brink of collapse, Frydenberg is playing political games, when he ought to be tearing up Australia’s costly and chaotic energy policy and starting from scratch.

Like Nero, fiddling while Rome burns, Frydenberg is exhausting his political capital ranting and raving about the ludicrous 50% renewable energy target being peddled by the Federal Labor Opposition, as well as berating Australia’s State Labor governments, for attempting to run their own races on renewable energy.

With a nod to Scripture, Frydenberg is obsessed with the specks in his political opponents’ eyes, but fails to notice…
