Weather Station Data Shows One Billion Chinese Are Living Through A 20-Year Cooling Trend

“The study found from 1998 to 2013 “the domain-averaged Tmin exhibited the strongest cooling trend and the number of significant cooling stations peaked.” There was “significant cooling” in minimum temperatures through 2016 in northern China, the Yangtze-Huai River Valley and southern China.

“This sustained hiatus gave rise to increasingly frequent and severe cold extremes there,” researchers wrote.”

Cooling during the past 20 years. Rather ironic considering this is the exact period China and the worlds CO2 emissions ramped up considerably.

Eastern China is in the midst of a two decade-long cooling trend, according to a new study, which labeled it a continuation of the “warming hiatus” that global temperatures experienced in the early 21st Century.

“During the past two decades since 1997, eastern China has experienced a warming hiatus punctuated by significant cooling in minimum temperature (Tmin), particularly during early-mid winter,” researchers with the China Meteorological Administration wrote in their July study.

An incredibly strong El Nino warming event largely ended the 15-year global warming “hiatus” in global average temperatures — and the two-decade hiatus in satellite data warming — but not in eastern China.

“There is no evidence indicating a termination of the recent warming hiatus in eastern China,” researchers found. “The question of when the accelerated warming trend will resume needs to be answered by climate model prediction.”

The study found…

AEMO: Plant Closures Helping to Stabilise South Australia’s Green Electricity Grid

WHAT a genius way to stabilize an energy grid destroyed by “unreliable” green energy wind and solar – simply shut down heavy industry and send those businesses and the thousands of jobs they provide to China, India or any of the other countries who use Australia’s coal that she does not allow herself to use…

NUTS.

Watts Up With That?

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

h/t JoNova – The closure of South Australia’s GM Holden Car Factory (13,000 jobs) will help stabilise South Australia’s green electricity grid, according to the government AEMO.

Holden closure will help Energy Market Operator manage SA’s blackout risk, report finds

By political reporter Nick Harmsen

Part of the soon-to-be vacated Holden factory in Adelaide is about to be transformed into a temporary power station to help stave off load-shedding blackouts this summer.

But the car industry’s closure will help the authorities manage the risk of blackouts in another way.

The exit of a once powerful manufacturing sectorwill see the state using less electricity, particularly during the all-important summer peak.

The information is contained in the latest Electricity Forecasting Insights published by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).

Projections for strong growth in rooftop PV and other consumer changes, along…

An Iceberg As Big As Delaware–Should We Be Worrying?

“What are the lessons we take from this new event? The scientists in the Antarctica will not say that we are seeing climate change in action. They are saying it could be, and time will tell, but for now, not climate change. The media found some researchers that say it is definitely global warming. Some surprise that is.”

Handy read on the time-honored tradition of nature delivering icebergs…

Climate Change Sanity

An iceberg as big as Delaware!   For those of you that are saying, “what’s a Delaware,?” — it is the second smallest State of the USA’s 50 States.   Even so, an iceberg that big is really impressive.  If it ran into the Titanic, the ship’s orchestra would probably not have had time to play for the people before the ship sank. (That’s from the movie– I am not sure the orchestra really played while the ship sank.)

Around 12 July this year, this huge piece of ice broke off from the Larson C ice shelf in Antarctica. The iceberg, named A68, has an area of 5800 km² (2239 miles²).  The authorities say it is the 5th largest berg in history. Because the continent of Antarctica is so inhospitable, it wasn’t till 1821 when an American seal hunter became the first person to actually put foot on this continent. History, in…

Australia Weather Bureau Caught Tampering With Climate Numbers

THE Commonwealth Meteorological Office (BoM) used to act as a “corrective to scare mongering and shameless prophecy.”

SWEPT up in climate change aka global warming hysteria, Australia’s premier meteorological office, the BoM, has become a veritable cheerleader for the environmental movement, preferring climate scare mongering and shameless prophecy, over objective and sceptical scientific climate analysis.

The latest temperature fraud performed by green climate activist scientists at the BoM, is yet another reason why – sadly – government institutions cannot be trusted on anything “global warming” or “climate change”.

Australian scientists at the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) ordered a review of temperature recording instruments after the government agency was caught tampering with temperature logs in several locations.

Agency officials admit that the problem with instruments recording low temperatures likely happened in several locations throughout Australia, but they refuse to admit to manipulating temperature readings. The BOM located missing logs in Goulburn and the Snow Mountains, both of which are in New South Wales.

Meteorologist Lance Pidgeon watched the 13 degrees Fahrenheit Goulburn recording from July 2 disappear from the bureau’s website. The temperature readings fluctuated briefly and then disappeared from the government’s website.

“The temperature dropped to minus 10 (13 degrees Fahrenheit), stayed there for some time and then it changed to minus 10.4 (14 degrees Fahrenheit) and…
