Santa Pause may be coming to town… The “pause” might be back by December.

Despite record and increasing ‘carbon dioxide emissions’….

Watts Up With That?

Guest post by David Middleton

A funny thing may have happened on the way to 2016 being the hottest year in the history of “life, the universe and everything”…

Pause1 The RSS global temperature anomaly has been cooing at a rate of 1.6 °C /yr since February.

If the RSS global temperature anomaly continues to drop at its current rate, the pause will be back just in time for Christmas…

Pause2 The RSS anomaly is currently on track to resume the pause by the end of this year.

Note: I am not predicting that the pause will return by the end of the year.  I’m just pointing out the fact that the most recent 5-month trend of the RSS anomaly will bring the pause back, if it continues through the end of the year.

GOP Should Seek Fraud Charges Against Al Gore

As should all climate alarmists who push the warming scare in complete contrast to real-world observations.

Al Gore — Cashing in on climate fear for 25 years

Larry-Bell_avatar-80x80By Larry Bell ~

As reported by Michael Bastasch in The Daily Caller, Democratic operatives responsible for creating their party’s platform are calling for the Department of Justice to investigate companies who have misled shareholders and the public about global warming science.

The draft will be submitted to the full platform committee for approval later this month.

The platform position follows legal actions against ExxonMobil by attorneys general from California, Massachusetts, New York, and the Virgin Islands which demand that the company turn over decades of correspondence with a lengthy fishing trip listing of other suspected climate crisis skeptics including various conservative think tanks.

Some Republican lawmakers and attorney generals are pushing back, warning in writing that “If it is possible to minimize the risks of climate change, then the same goes for exaggeration” . . . “If…

Tol on Gulf Stream slowdown: “Cooling is probably a good bit more harmful than warming…”

Watts Up With That?

Gulf Stream slowdown to spare Europe from worst of climate change

global_thermohaline

From the UNIVERSITY OF SUSSEX and Dr. Richard Tol.

Europe will be spared the worst economic impacts of climate change by a slowing down of the Gulf Stream, new research predicts.

Scientists have long suggested that global warming could lead to a slowdown – or even shutdown – of the vast system of ocean currents, including the Gulf Stream, that keeps Europe warm.

Known as the Thermohaline Circulation, this system operates like a conveyor belt, transporting warm water from the tropics to Europe, where evaporation decreases salinity and density so that the water sinks.

As the world warms, melting icecaps and increased rainfall are widely predicted to slow this process down by flooding oceans with cold freshwater.

Some experts even fear that the process could shut down altogether, plunging Europe into a new ice age.

However, a new study…

Committee On Climate Change Admit Wind Power Is Dearer Than CCGT

Like the old sailors say, “The wind is free, but everything else costs money” – lots and lots of it.

NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

By Paul Homewood

You may remember claims a few weeks ago from Renewable UK, the lobby group for renewable energy, that onshore wind isnow the cheapest form of new generation in Britain.

As I showed in this post at the time, the claims were simply bunkum. The cost of onshore wind in reality is currently around twice the price of CCGT.

It seems that John Gummer’s Committee on Climate Change agrees with me!
