A dataset update from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, aimed at removing biases in the data, wiped out the “pause” — to much fanfare and controversy. “Newly corrected and updated global surface temperature data …. do not support the notion of a global warming ‘hiatus,’” the study found.

    The “pause” is just a polite neutral way of saying “the failure of academic models predicting doomsday warming”.

    And the daft thing is – that the reason real science is so great – is because it does admit its mistakes. And that I suggest is why the climate “glitterarti” like Mann have so much problem. Because once the green=gullibles put you on a pedestal for “proving” humanity and modern civilisation is “evil” – in becomes increasingly difficult to swallow your pride and become a real scientist who does admit their mistakes.

    And indeed – it is only through finding our mistakes – that real science progresses.
