Story submitted by Eric Worrall: The Australian Broadcasting Corporation, a taxpayer funded media organization, has just asked whether we should consider restructuring democracy to ensure an efficient response to the climate “crisis”.
The first paragraph;
“Is it democracy that is blocking progress on climate change or the current limited version of it that pervades Western society?” pretty much sums up the rest of the article, which spends several paragraphs praising authoritarianism, before chickening out and trying to suggest that governments are acting contrary to the wishes of voters.”
The article quotes one of our old favorites, Naomi Oreskes, who celebrates China’s authoritarian political process; “China’s ability to weather disastrous climate change vindicated the necessity of centralised government … inspiring similar structures in other, reformulated nations.”
To me, what this bizarre effort suggests more…

Is John Kerry mentally ill? ‘Scriptures Commands America To Protect Muslims From Global Warming ‘
Posted: September 8, 2014 Filed under: Uncategorized 1 CommentAt first, I thought this had to be a joke in the style of “The Onion”. Sadly, no. I have video of this dolt saying this on C-Span. I don’t know who’s more dangerous to humanity, Kerry or ISIS.
Here is some history leading up to this epic inanity. In February, Kerry said climate change is as ‘big a threat to the world as terrorism, poverty, and weapons of mass destruction’. Last month Kerry said climate change is the “biggest challenge of all we face right now.” And on Tuesday September 3rd, at a ceremony to appoint Texas lawyer Shaarik Zafar as special representative to Muslim communities, Kerry told the crowd that it is America’s Biblical “responsibility” to “confront climate change.”
“Our faiths are inextricably linked on any number of things that we must confront and deal with in policy concepts today. Our faiths are inextricably linked on the environment…

Pittsburgh Tribune editorial calls the IPCC ‘climate-clucking Chicken Littles’
Posted: September 8, 2014 Filed under: Uncategorized 1 CommentSlowly, sanity is returning as witnessed by this pragmatic editorial on Sept 2nd:
The world’s loudest climate-clucking Chicken Littles foresee grain harvests diminishing, Greenland’s ice sheet melting, sea levels rising and extreme weather increasing. And there’s less time than ever to head off disaster by submitting to IPCC orthodoxy.
But even the loudest clucking can’t drown out contrary facts. U.S. temperatures haven’t risen in a decade. Global temperatures have been flat for 17 years. Prior warming was within natural variability. The IPCC’s main greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, isn’t a pollutant. And humanity’s climate impact is negligible, so top-down “solutions” are pointless and economically harmful, as shown by Australia repealing its carbon tax in favor of voluntary clean-energy incentives.
Dramatic video of explosive volcanic eruption with compression wave
Posted: September 8, 2014 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a commentHere’s something seldom seen – a volcanic eruption that is so fast and intense that it creates a condensation shock wave in the atmosphere (like is sometimes seen from bombs exploding) along with throwing massive debris into the air that splashes down in the water.
This incredible video was taken by a tourist on a pleasure boat ride. Best viewed full screen (set for HD) with sound on. Watch for the wave to hit the camera!
